Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts

This 126,000-square-foot facility located on the Melbourne campus of Eastern Florida State College is the county’s premier performing arts venue, offering educational, cultural and community-related showcases. The center features a 2,016-seat main theater and an intimate Studio Theatre that seats 250. It also offers a members-only mezzanine Crown Club, monthly art exhibits at the art display area in the lobby and a spacious Rotunda area available for receptions, weddings and corporate functions.

Brevard Symphony Orchestra

The Brevard Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has been designated as the “Orchestra in Residence” at the King Center for the Performing Arts. This fully professional orchestra is recognized as one of the leading arts organizations in Central Florida. The BSO performs several subscription series concerts throughout the year, a free family concert every fall and, in partnership with the Brevard County School District, an annual concert for every fifth grade student in the county each February.

Space Coast Ballet

Under the direction of former Kirov Ballet dancers Boris Chepelev and Janna Kirova, the Space Coast Ballet performs at the King Center. The company’s production of “The Nutcracker” has become a memorable Christmas tradition in Brevard County, featuring internationally acclaimed principal dancers, elaborate sets and elegant costumes.
