Community Outreach

Brevard County maintains a small-town attitude about caring for its children, its elderly and those less fortunate facing difficult personal challenges.

From animal-rights organizations to community development outreach to child care and mentoring programs, there are tons of nonprofit organizations in Brevard County that need help, not only financially, but also through volunteerism.

Learn about volunteer opportunities in the community at 2-1-1 Brevard. This 24-hour a day, 7-day a week free service is available simply by dialing 2-1-1. Information on health, human services and governmental programs available to Brevard County residents can also be accessed through 2-1-1. The organization also offers a comprehensive resource database online at 211Brevard.org.

United Way of Brevard is the “leader in mobilizing the caring power of the community.” In 2014, the organization’s annual fundraising campaign set a goal of $6.4 million to assist more than 60 local health and human care agencies to help fund critical programs. Each annual campaign’s impact far exceeds the actual dollar mark due to matching funds from state and federal funding sources and grants.
