Scratch DayEvent Date: Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Location: 50 W Strawbridge Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901
Do you have an aspiring computer coder or software engineer in your family? Bring them to Scratch Day! Scratch Day is an event for all second through sixth grade Brevard County students to learn coding with Scratch, a free visual programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab. The event is for both beginner and experienced coders and will cover the process of coding games and animations!
Scratch allows users to use event-driven programming with multiple active objects called sprites. With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations and then share your creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. Only 15 spots are available, so sign up now!
